What made you want to work at a Pilates studio:  I've been a dancer for sixteen years, a yogi for five and recently new to Pilates! Holistic medicine and health has always been a big part of my life. My parents were nurses and caregivers; they taught me how to take care of my body and my extended family gave me some awesome knowledge of natural supplements. It's something I share with my sister who is very important to me, it is something that I am constantly expanding my knowledge of. I wanted to work at a place that was going to be an extension of the practices I use in my personal life. I love bringing new people around to Pilates to show them the self-awareness and positive energy that comes with it! 

What is your most memorable experience at Uptown so far:  One of my favorite moments working at the studio so far is being able to look over from the desk and see a room full of people, stretching, working, talking, smiling and I love to feel like I'm a part of that positivity.


Share something about your first Pilates session:  My first Pilates session was with Summer Reed and it was so eye-opening. Being a dancer does not necessarily mean you are in tune with your body, I was feeling muscles engaged that I've never utilized before. I feel like I'm just taking the first step in my Pilates journey :)

What is your favorite exercise or cue that you hear from instructors:   My favorite cue I hear is from Lesly Levy who likes to say "in with the air, out with the air", I also love the term "powerhouse"
